I am a freelance Theatre Director based in Bristol and Cardiff.

Directing

I have worked with several different organisations including:
National Theatre Wales,   Theatr Iolo,  Bath Theatre Royal,  Bristol Old Vic,  Sherman Cymru,  Trestle Theatre Company ,  am a founding member of  artist led collective Residence and am now an associate artist of The Egg Theatre Bath.

I have a particular love of storytelling, whether traditionally narrative driven or more episodic, my passion is to find new and interesting ways to tell evocative stories that touch and inspire.

My specialism is new writing, often in close collaboration with a writer.  My work often has a strong visual bias but has spanned many different genres including: Classic texts, Childrens’ theatre, Spoken word poetry, Puppetry, Dance and Live art.  My influences vary greatly from Tim Crouch to Katie Mitchell with Improbable and Trestle theatre company somewhere in the mix.

My practice is about experimenting, challenging and developing myself and my skills in order to find new ways of meeting the work and communicating through performance.

Teaching

My other main area of work is teaching. I train actors of all levels and abilities including: private coaching for drama school auditions, a 10 week actor training course, youth theatre sessions for several organizations, masterclasses for drama schools and teaching on a btec higher national diploma course.
