Directing

I have been directing for the past 19 years, always in close collaboration with a writer.
I originally trained at LIPA from 2000 -2003 and received 1st class hons in Performing arts.
In 2008 I completed a year long director traineeship at Sherman Cymru supported by Arts Council Wales. In 2009 I was awarded an emerging directorship with National Theatre Wales.

I have worked with several organisations including:
Bath Theatre Royal,  Bristol Old Vic, National Theatre Wales, Sherman Cymru, Theatre West, Theatr Iolo,  Trestle Theatre Company ,  circumstance The Egg Theatre Bath, Wales Millenium centre and recently Minack theatre

I am co- artistic director of Invisible ink, an exciting collaboration between myself and writer Alan Harris.

My work has spanned many different genres including: Classic texts, Childrens’ theatre, Spoken word poetry, Puppetry and Live art but always has truthful storytelling and collaborative dramaturgy at its heart. My influences vary greatly from Tim Crouch to Katie Mitchell with Mike Leigh and Scandinavian crime drama’s somewhere in the mix.

My practice is led by a continued curiosity and desire to understand people. I’m always drawn to stories which show the very best and worst of the human condition.

Script development

Alongside directing I have also developed/ dramaturged many new plays by emerging and established writers for companies such as : Sherman Cymru, Bristol Old vic , The Tobacco Factory theatre, Theatre West, Dirty Protest
